Good day, and welcome to this blog. To protect my identity, I ask to be referred to by my video game screen name Xaris. I am an 18 year old gamer and journalist and intend to use this blog to fight in the name of the first amendment. I believe that the first amendment is the most precious thing that the constitution can protect. My political views are quite left-wing. I believe very strongly in freedom of religion as I am Agnostic (read: I do not know if God exists, and I do not think it is man's job to proof whether he exists of not), as a journalist, I believe in freedom of the press. Because I specialize in opinion writing, I believe in freedom of speech. I also believe in freedom of assembly, but I do not endorse protests based solely on religious controversy.
I believe that homosexuals deserve every right to be miserably married as the rest of us, I believe that everyone's religion is equally ambiguous and I believe that those of African, Hispanic, Middle-Eastern, Native American, or Asian descent are as equal as those who are of European descent. I also find rampant patriotism annoying. I have nothing against loving one's own country, but being overly zealous about it is wrong. I seriously consider moving out of this country because of political, civil and economical problems that do not look like they will be resolved within my lifetime.
Why would a left wing, non-Christian journalist make a political blog here at a website targeted at conservatives? Because I find the best way to start this battle is to change the ways of overzealous, racist or homophobic closed-minded conservatives is to go directly to said closed-minded conservatives.
My goal is not to recruit for the democrats. It is to open the minds of those who use God as an excuse for hate while claiming to be hated at the same time or the overly arrogant or even the ones that honestly believe that their hate is right. I cannot stand closed mindedness that is why I am focusing on that area.
As I said before, I am a journalist, and as such, I will not allow my Journalistic morals be compromised. This means that, while I will not abridge my opinion in any way , I will not go so low as to reduce myself to petty insults.
If you wish to e-mail me in an attempt to make conversation, please feel free. I will gladly discuss my opinions on pretty much any subject you wish to discuss.
Finally, for those who want to comment me with messages of damnation, mockery or general criticisms, please, HAVE NO MERCY!
